One Day on Earth

My video has different themes. I started brain storming and my first thought for a theme was a day in my life. It would be really interesting but still many people would not understand it. Therefore I decided to make a day on earth, from morning to night. This new theme involves a day having fun, without stopping throughout also the night. I really enjoyed this theme because it not only describes me, but may also describe thousands of other people. At the beginning of the video I put morning images, and as the video went by I ended it with night life.
This video was a very interesting project to create. Having plenty of days to take photos and video clips, we all took advantage of those days and used them to the maximum level. One example of this would be me, this last weekend I went to Guadalajara to take video clips. Also, I went to Puerto Vallarta's down town and took lots of pictures, which are amazing. Now that I had the pictures and clips, making them into a video wasn't that hard. I used Windows Live Movie Maker, which I didn't like much. I thought I had the Windows Movie Maker, which I already had experience with. With Windows Live Movie Maker, I started at zero. They took the feature I most wanted to use, the speed of video clips. Still, I could manage out without that feature. Connecting all the pictures and video clips into one single video was not that hard. I also put different transitions to make it look better instead of just skipping from one picture to another. What was more of an osbtacle for me was to learn how to use Windows Live Movie Maker, which I think I already have under control. This video was a really awesome project we did, and I would also see myself doing another one in the future.

One Day on Earth

This trailer was just amazing and shocking. I really liked this project because they are not only to promote a company or make money, it is to make Earth a better place for us and our children. These projects are always amazing because it also makes people think twice about life and to realize all the damage we are actually making, not only to planet Earth, but also to us. I think the message, not that hidden, in these two videos are for us to appreciate what life really means and for us to take care of it.
All the clips and images have a certain meaning, it depends on us if we actually want to figure it out or not. For example, little kids having fun somewhere in India where poverty has always been really high. If we think about it, it doesn't matter where we are or what we are passing through, it is actually our choice to suffer for something. When someone who is closely related to us passes away, it will obviously affect us. Still, we have to think about it and to learn not to suffer about someone leaving, but to think that they will be in a better place. What makes these clips and images so powerful is our own mind and how we react to different point of views. In life we have to accept other people's opinions and not get mad about them. That is how people could actually live in peace.

How much fuel do I use?

Every year I use a total of 1,888.56 L of fuel to come to school an back to my house. That is a lot because imagine, every time your fuel is over and you have to go to the gas station, you normally fill 40 L of fuel. Still, it uses around 1 thousand liters less than my dream car, which is a big amout of fuel and money. That would also have a good saving system, using less fuel. The image above is my dream car, a Lamborghini Murcielago. Even though is uses a lot of fuel and I am aware or environmental problems, that car is just amazing. Maybe I should also look for cool cars that use less fuel, but later on.

2005 Mercedes-Benz ML500 - 1888.56 L
Lamborghini Murcielago - 2723.28 L
Honda Civic Hybrid - 615.61 L
Toyota Corolla - 939.06 L

Google Earth Tours

Since last week we have been working with Google Earth, and today we saw other people's tours. The first tour I saw was Jorge's and it was pretty awesome. Something I liked a lot was that he visited famous places like the Taj Majal and the Colleseum. What I didn't like was that many places were still pretty pixelized so you could not distinguish much, other than that it was cool. The next tour I saw was Ximena's, which wasn't that good because she wasn't able to open her original file. What I was able to see was all pixelized so I didn't get to enjoy her real tour. The last tour I saw was Debora's, and it was amazing because she really put effort into it and the places she visited were really beautiful, like for a REAL vacation I would love to go to. What I didn't like is that she stayed in one place too long so it took time, but it was still amazing. My tour was also cool from my point of view because I visited cool places like the Eiffel Tour and the Roman Colleseum, and also places I miss like Mexico City. What I just realized is that the pixelized parts is because of the slow internet connection we have at school. Something I would change is the places I would go to, to be able to visit different places.

Joy

What I have just done is remodel my Blogger Profile. As you can see, it is now more colorful and nice. It has this psychedelic background that really matches my likes. For example, you can see that they are like techno/eletronic lights, which are just awesome. Another thing I also like about my new Blog is that its got this invisible text box so you can still see the background while reading. Still, as time will go by we will have to post more and more posts (no really, post posts :P). Let's just say we will have to let this be handled by time. Remodeling this blog was pretty easy because I just deleted what I didn't need like the fish tank. Even though it was cool, it was just a waste of space and something not useful. For example, in life you will also have to deal to similar things. Not get rid of your fish but of the non important people or items in your life. Something I also just did was eat a chocolate chip cookie.

Something I would just love to do for me is to get a life. Not in the way that I don't have one and I'm emo, no. I just want to grow up and get rid of all my current problems. Still, for that I have to wait some couple years. So, for the meanwhile I will have to make it happen and never give up on life. Even though we all have to go through emotional changes, we have to learn that giving up something is giving up on someone. The future is not that far away from today, and every day is a new day. Lately I've been thinking of what I would like to be when I growed up. When I was small I thought of things like chef, but the only thing I used to cook right was cereal and sandwiches. Later on I wanted to be an architect because if my abilities in math, but architecture is not all about math either. So now, some of my options are surgeon, marine biologist, or architect. Those are three very good options for my life, since I love animals, cereal, I'm good in math, and new experiences are always good. I would also like to learn many other things about everything, which sounds pretty complicated but yeah.

Something that makes me special is my psychological ability. My mom doesn't appreciate it much but it doesn't matter. I help many friends in difficult situations they go through. That is a good aspect of mine because whenever YOU need help I might help you. Something I don't like about that is that all my good advices I give are not useful with me. I have gone almost most problems my "clients" have had and I still haven't managed to get over them. Still, I live an acceptable life and even though I might whine about it, I'm happy I even have a life. Not the same life I was talking about in the last parragraph because in the other one I meant getting a life that will make me a better citizen in the future and in this paragraph I mean as having a soul that allows me to move and think. Lalalala have you ever heard of the song: "Cities of the Future - Infected Mushroom"? If not do it, if yes, AMAZING!

Typing Master Improvement Graphs

These two graphs show how much I've improved since the beginning of the year. At the beginning of the year, I typed around small 30s and as the time passed on I learned to write faster, around 40-50 words per minute. I could really use a little more improvement because typing faster is something we all should master. Typing faster helps us to write our homework or our Facebook comment way faster. I think next year we should concentrate more in other projects like Macromedia Flash instead of wasting a lot of time doing Typing Master and Excel Sheets to show how much we have improved. Still, working with Typing Master is something that has and still could help us more.

Map Scores Graphs

This graph DOES show the difference from time because it has different points from different seasons. It shows the increase and decrease from time on time of your scores and how you have improved. As you score higher, the line increases. As you score lower, your line decreases.

This Language Graph shows the difference from time because each bar shows each score of the Map test. With each bar you can see how you improved during your tests and also how you may have decreased. It is a good graph to show scores over time because as time passes on a new bar passes on.

The Mathematics Map Score is a pretty good graph to show improvement as time passes on. With each test you did, a new cone would appear. The score you get on your test will be how tall the cone will be. The taller, the higher your score is. It is a good graph to show scores over time because you can see how much you have improved during time and how you have done before.

Oil Spill

In April the Twentieth, a catastrophic event happened. An oil drill from the BP Company by the Guld of Mexico suffered an explision, which caused 5 thousand barrels of oil to spill PER DAY. this oil spill is affecting thousands of organisms, both in the water and on the land. Hundreds of animals have been dying because of all the toxins they have to support every day. Imagine having to wake up one day and all your habitat is full of toxins you can´t take anymore. Many animals have to take this everyday, and most of all because of this oil spill. All of this oil has spread over 1800 squared miles and is going for more. This spill has been reaching the biggest oil spill in history. And people may ask themselves who is the responsible for all of this disaster, well the responsible ones for this immense disaster is the BP (British Petroleum) Company. This company is obligated to pay a fee of 7.5 million dollars. Still, that amount of money won´t affect much this company because we humans still keep on using petroleum as our only fuel.

There are thousands of habitats and species being affected, and this is just another inustice in the world. They are obviously not responisble for this disaster and it is something really unfair because they had nothing to do with it. Now, they have to suffer consequnces that they never asked for. The BP Company has thought of several ideas, yet they haven´t acted much. An example would be when they thought of blocking the leak, but still before even doing it they thought that idea would eventually fail. Many people ask themselves what BP will do, and they still have no answer. BP has said they will pay a 7.5 million fee, as said before. Still, BP Company has been demanded by many states close to the Gulf of Mexico, including Louisiana. Because of the size of the oil spill, which is larger than many countries and cities, including Puerto Vallarta, it will take a massive amount of time to clean all of the oil. This spill has already affected the Earth because petroleum is something that living organisms cannot tolerate. Sadly, this leak is still releasing oil as all of us keep on writing and thinking, thinking what will happen next. It may take months, maybe even a year or moe than a year, to stop this leak and clean the ocean. As that time passes on, animal species may even become extinct. This act has been a great one in the human race history, and maybe when it is over with the leaders of many countries will think before acting. For example, the BP Company had stopped the maintenance and as the water pressure got higher, the more chances of the tubes were to break. There have been more thoughts about petroleum, though. For instance, the use of solar energy or gas that comes from cane. Maybe this event will help us in the future, but for a better tomorrow we have to act today.

Map Tests

Well, during the last week and the beginning of this week we have been doing our Map Testing. I am actually proud of my math scores, only my math. I over passed my goal by 7 points! I was supposed to score over 260 and I scored 267 *w*. What motivated me the most to score higher in these tests wasn't the free spirit day. Actually, I don't think that motivated anyone but the teachers. I think something that would have motivated even more a whole class would be that the class that overpassed their scores the most would get a pizza party or something fun.. Still there's nothing fun about school except your friends, is there? Doing the Map Tests is something kind of weird. In primary they made it sound as the biggest deal ever, that you had to eat your breakfast super healthy so you had more energy. Well, non of that is really true. These tests are just so you can see how leveled you are in some classes, and if you are more advanced than others. These tests can tell your future teachers if you are actually able to enter a certain class or not. When I say that doing the Map Tests is weird I mean that it's something that you don't normally do and is kind of a pain. Still, doing these tests help you to see if you are doing good in some classes or not. The Map webpage is the NWEA (Northwest Evaluation Association). There you can see the goals of doing these tests.

Earth Problems Presentations

Today in class we saw each other's presentations. I found them pretty interesting, how we all think the same but different at the same time. It is awesome that we all think that the Earth is really being affected and that we should make a change, still not everybody sees that we Humans are the real problem here. I think that we humans are the ones affecting the Earth the most because we are the ones who want more power. When we humans want more power we a re willing to do anything to get it, and once we have it many people will want that power too. Now that I saw the presentations of other people, I think I could add some more information. Still, most of the presentations I saw today have the written summaries on the slides, and I find that kind of annoying. Instead of PRESENTING (which is what a Power Point is for...) they READ and "entertain" you. In the other hand, I have photos and pictures to show my points while I describe them. I find that kind of a better characteristic in Power Points because it entertains the people more and doesn't let them fall asleep. If I did my own presentation again, I would write the citations at the end, which is something I totally forgot. I don't think it is THAT important right now, but in the future it may be a sign of plagiarism (which I am completely innocent of). Still, hope y'all enjoyed my presentation.

Meet Your Meat - PETA Organization

The following video has reached hundreds of hearts, but it is still not enough. Please help us, and yourself, to make the correct choice. People today are not aware of the real damage we, as humans, are causing. Killing animals is not the correct answer to anything, not even to starvation. We are not asking you to change your routine, but it would be wonderful if you could. The meat they sell today has more chemicals in it that affect your body in a slow way. Please, don't keep on ignoring the problems we are facing today. Help us make a change, and you will also be rewarded. This is our Earth, we humans are the most powerful organism alive in this planet. With all that power, lets make the correct choices.

School Mistakes

Well, we are humans. What else can we say? Everyday at least 99% of the humans have to make a mistake, whether it is a silly one or a serious one. The most common mistake in Power Point Presentations I've seen in this class is overwriting. Whenever we have to make a Power Point Presentation, there's at least five presentations that have overwriting. By overwriting I mean people who write their COMPLETE ideas instead of putting their points. I remember during fifth and sixth grade with Miss Kim we had to make Book Talks. I really miss them, but not that much to make one. Most kids, I realized, wrote their complete summaries instead of ideas. That took the interest away of their presentations, except if the book was really interesting. I remember Pedro's and Mahonry's presentation including the WHOLE summary, which was kind of boring. While they read their summaries, I remember being half asleep. Also, their spelling and grammar. Many people don't proof read their work, so their assignments are full of mistakes that are just annoying when you look at them. People should at least see their presentations when they are done with them, to look for mistakes and to at least practice what and how they are going to present. Still, we are humans and make mistakes.

What do I think about my own video?

Well, I think both Thomas and I made a GREAT effort. Still, considering the rubric I would have put more effort into it. In my opinion, I put a lot of effort into it, and Thomas not as much as me but still he put some. I didn't like much our vocals and asked him if we could re-do it, but sometimes we men are more "webones" that women. The spanish term "webon" refers to someone who doesn't care much and doesn't do stuff because he or she has a lack of energy. About the rubric, I think they are very well done. All the points are considered, but I think that the duration should have been longer than one minute. The other two groups I had to evaluate were also great, as mine ;3. Still, I think that the seventh grade group I evaluated could have done a better job. The 12th grade group did an amazing job.

Earth Day Problems

The Earth is dying slowly, and we humans are the main source of the problem. We throw trash to the streets, to the ocean, to our own Mother Earth. We are what we do, what we are, how we act, how we respond. The problem right now is that we don´t knwo how to appreciate what we really have, nature. We are slowly killing it, polluting what is not ours to pollute.

Yesterday, I was walking and I saw the circus that arrived to town. This circus, as many others today, had animals. Animals such as elephants, tigers, horses, animals that shouldn´t be where they are right now. Animals that were born with the right to be free, but were taken by us humans. As I kept on thinking, it is not only the circus´ fault they have those animals, but also our fault for letting them having them. Imagine a tiger, living in the wild. Imagine him watching over his family, having a good time. When all of a suddent, here comes the human species. The only animal on Earth that is fully capable of annihilating other species, without even wincing. The one that can massacre a whole lot of animals, and knowing it is wrong but still doing it. The question is, why? Power. Power is what we all want today. The presidents, governors, teachers, even us as individuals. When we gain something we want, we insantly want more and more. Is that correct? It is not correct, but is isn´t incorrect, either. It is just how the human species has evolved. The problem is that we take it too far. Too far that we can even kill someone else for that power. Inocent people, innocent animals. Children that die in war, what had a family, friends, maybe even a date. Animals that had a family, a group of the same species who they could rely to. But what does it really matter when it comes to the fact that we come to detroy their happiness? We come and go, taking all their rights away from. These innocent living beings, that could never see their family again. Is this what we really want? We are attacking Mother Earth, destroying her. Is this the correct thing?

Today, we humans are killing what gave us birth in the first place. It´s not one problem that were enlisted on moodle that causes all the damage to the Earth. It´s us what is affecting the Earth the most. These are the option Mr. Picketts gave to us: *vanishing species.
*overflowing landfills.
*air pollution.
*rain forest destruction.
*water pollution.
*energy depletion.
Really? All of this are caused by us humans, don´t you think so? So what is the REAL problem here? Us.

Life is not about what people who seek power do, it´s about what we, who don´t have that power, do. It´s not about the government donating one billion dollars to a certain coorporation to make a change, but about the government making the change on its own. If you think of it, what has the government really done? The biggest projects have been made by the citizens who do care. The ones that want a change in the world. For example, last weekend there was a project in Puerto Vallarta that involved both the British American School and the American School of Puerto Vallarta. These two schools came together and both cleaned the Cuale River, a really pulluted river in Puerto Vallarta. The sad thing about this is that, even though a lot of trash was picked up, even more has been thrown at this moment and nobody does anything about it. The problem is people don´t think before they act, and when they do act they dont have a conscience to see if what they did was wrong or not.

It´s not that we need money to make an idea bigger, it´s other people we need. More people that can realize all the damage we are making to our own Earth, our only planet. Of you Googled satellite pictures of the Earth from some years ago and now, you would see that throwing a Coke bottle to the street does make a change. Any bottle, paper, spit that gets thrown to the ground makes a change. The Earth is what we want it to be, but remember, actions speak louder than words. If you want to see a cleaner Earth, clean it. If you want to see a better Earth, prove it.

Earth Day Project

Well, the Earth day was coming closer and we had to do a project about it. In partners, we had to choose a song and sing it ourselves. Thomas and I chose the song Earth Song by Michael Jackson. I had never heard that song before. At first we had chosen another song but as we started to read it out loud we realized it was really not about the Earth. When we found the Michael Jackson song we just knew that would be the one for us. Later one I realized other classes had already chosen that song, but it didn't bother me much. We really didn't have much problems doing this project. Actually it was a great project. Both Thomas and I took pictures about nature. I went to the Zoo with my sister and her boyfriend to take some photos. I also traveled around Puerto Vallarta to take some other photos. Thomas took some photos from the place where he lives, and those pictures were also fantastic. When I heard there was another circus in town, I kind of got sad. Many circuses use animals as if they were something to play with. They don't treat them the way the should be treated and don't give them much freedom. When I passed by the circus in bicycle, I saw the animals that were trapped. They had a space that not even I could live in. They had as much space as their own body times two. Like, seriously, imagine that you had to live somewhere where the only thing you could physically do was turn around? That would be really depressing, and that's the life those animals are living. I also took some pictures of them to add them to the video. When we sang this song we did some remakes because we laughed at our mistakes. This final version was one of the best ones. We had some problems because not Thomas nor I sing a lot. Sometimes it may sound a little bad but that's why we also the lyrics during the video. Here we will embed the video so you can enjoy our magic as you read this amazing blog post. Thanks for your time and remember to click LIKE. ;)

My Dream Spring Break

A perfect spring break for me would be a spring break were I would have the best time of my life. A time when all the troubles from the school just disappear, when all of your chores just aren't there for you to do anymore, when your parents aren't nagging all the time, and when you are with your most loved ones and missed ones. This spring break would consist of having fun without any limits.
Having the opportunity to chose anything you would do during this vacations, I don't think I'd hesitate to think. My mind would just get filled with thousands of different ideas, but sadly most of them are not really logical nor possible. Some of the ideas would involve stuff that aren't able to get here in Mexico, and I don't think I will get those things in a while. Other ideas are more logical but to make them possible other people would have to agree to them. I mean, our teenage minds are full of crazy ideas that if our parents knew what we were thinking about we would be grounded until reaching the University.
It had been forty eight days of me waiting, and it wasn't the best experience ever. Waiting for your loved ones isn't the best experience ever. Every second feels like a minute, and every minute feels like an hour.
If I could chose ONE thing in particular, I wouldn't doubt about spending time with her.
All about her, her hair, her smile, her face, her body, her hands, her smell, would invite you into her. She is just like one of those kind of persons that when you turn around to see everything else disappears and you just randomly stare at their unfair beauty, but the even worse part is when you get to know these kind of people. Like her, she is just perfect. She is the kind of person that you would give anything to spend your whole spring break with, even the summer and Christmas vacations, even the whole year. She is just that kind of girls that steals your heart without a second glance and when you realize she has it you can do nothing but let her keep it.
That's why, if I could chose my perfect spring break, she would be in it. She would be in it because of what she is, a heart stealer; because of what she has become, my biggest obsession; because of where she is, all over my mind. Not even having to rethink what a perfect spring break would consist of, I would have already added her to my list, and she would be in the number one position. Having fun doesn't involve just spending time where you most like to, but spending it with the ones you most love. This Dream Spring Break would involve this girl, and luckily it doesn't have to be a Spring Break, or a big holiday, it could even a be weekend, and that weekend is about to come.

Rotoball Difficulty

For the last couple weeks we have been working with the rotoball project. It was been an amazing project. I think that the biggest difficulty was transforming the real video into the animated video. It was a job that was slit in different parts; the tracing, the background, and the ball! I did the ball part first. It took me no more than one hour to get the job completed! This "difficulty" was not something that someone couldn't overcome. It is something that solves itself with some time. I think that people didn't see this job as a difficulty and just did what they HAD to have done, without putting some of their effort. If everyone put their effort into their work, the problems would be minimal and be able to get solved really easy. I won't judge a lot other people's projects because I know mine is not that perfect but still we could have all done a much better job.

The Rotoball Changes

Today in class we finally saw the first draft of the complete video! I was kind of shocked because it looked so much a like the first video we saw! I really think ALL of us could make some changes. Specially those persons who didn't put as much effort to this project as they could have done so. In my case, I actually think I put a lot of effort into it. Today, when we watched the first video, I realized my job wasn't completely done. You weren't able to watch me because of the background. I changed the background to a lighter color so you can see the trace better! I actually took a lot of time with the trace, while other people finished the trace in two days! D: I think all of those people should put more effort into cool projects like this -.-

My Rotoball Video

For the last couple weeks, we have been using Macromedia Flash to make our own rotoball video! At first I thought of it as kind of random but as time went by i rally liked this project. This rotoball video is REALLY cool because it is like a real video but jsut as an animation. I think that the major difficulty in this project was to trace yourself. I don't think that as much as a difficulty but more of lack of time. For every frame you have to trace yourself. I think I kind of messed it up when I traced myself with a really thin marker. In my final work, you can barely see myself! D: Maybe I could have just used a bolder marker but still the video looks great. If I had to do the project again, maybe I could change what happens with the ball. I didn't see it as original but still I liked it ☻. I could also trace myself with a bigger brush and make the background better.

My Rotoball Video

I really don't know what my rotoball video will be about. Today in class we saw several examples of people from the whole world and from our own school. I actually liked ALL of them because, even though many of them repeated kicking the ball, this project is just so cool. Like, we film ourselves doing something with an invisible ball and then I think in Macromedia we actually invent the ball! ☺ Now that I think about it, I would like to change the ball´s shape. Maybe change it into an instrument or something and play it! Then change it into a baseball bat and just hit the ball and make a home run. n_n Haha that would be cool. Maybe something more original like just turning it into a rocket and launching it.

Amazing Hindu Invention

In my opinion this new invention is just so amazing! I have never thought of something like that. My first impression aboutt his video was that it was boring. At the beginning you really couldn't understand anything he said but when he started showing clips about his new project he just instantly caught your attention. This invention just started by this Hindu guy breaking apart two computer mouses. When I first saw what he was doing I though: "What a jerk," but this changed when I saw what he had done with the mouses. It was just soooo amazing. I would obviously like to be able to own one of this new technology machine but it would be just so expensive! Sometimes it would be easier to just use the computer at home because it is also quicker, but after a while that this new invention gets the heat started I would just love to have one.

I think one of man's best inventions is technology. Technology helps us to do THOUSANDS of things, but it also be dangerous. As I have written in previous blog posts we need to be careful on what information we put into our social media pages. Technology permits us to do, as I said before, thousands of things. You can play games and watch videos, invent your OWN games and create your OWN videos.

When this Hindu guy said he would post his invention on Open Source, my mouth just fell wide open. Being the creator of one of the best technological inventions in the world, and putting it on a public page?! That is just being both stupid and generous, REALLY generous. Open source means putting whatever you want in public. Open Source, two different words. Open means that it is available, open to the public. Source, well, do I really need to explain it? If I had just invented the best technological device, I would sell it to a really big company like microsoft or something like hat. Putting it in public doesn't give you much credit. I think this guy should have sold his project and earned more money. =3

Online Relationships -- Healthy or Unhealthy?

Online relationships are pretty lame. I think that stalking or teasing people in social medias is really for people who don't have anything better to do. People that actually do those stuff may be really dangerous or just some random guys without a life. That is why it is important to NOT put personal real information inside your profile. It is true that people feel more confident by releasing their feelings through Social Media were no one actually knows you and judges you. Also, some times you know how to talk to someone through the internet and not in real life. What people tell you via internet can also affect your emotions a lot because we, as teenagers, actually connect with the computer. We release our emotions and let them spread, having the risk of also receiving other new emotions that could hurt us. Sometimes in the internet you could actualyl say stuff without regretting them later because, either you don´t even know the person, or just don´t care about what may happen. You may also think that the people you are talking to live miles away from you, but there are actualyl some stalkeres that are capable of going after you. I´m just saying that online relationships really don´t work and that it should not happen.

Parenting, Privacy and Control

Parents today are really over protective. They hover over your shoulder trying to see EVERYTHING you are doing in the computer. Actually is gets pretty annoying. Parents should be aware of what we are doing but not stalking us. I think it is OK for parents to know what kind of pages we enter to in internet, which most frequently are Facebook and our own Messenger account. Parents shouldn't feel fear for anything we do, until it gets to the point were we are in real danger. Yes, parents have all the right to protect us, but we also need our own privacy. I think all humans need at least some privacy to stay in peace. Parents shouldn't control everything we did because if they did I think THEY would be happy but WE would be kind of screwed.

Internet in the home

In the past few days, we have been watching a movie with the purpose of showing that teenagers have been using the technology we have been given. We teenagers use the computer most of the time, when we get home, when we are at school, when we are at another friend's house, and when we have free time left. In my opinion, this film was produced to entertain teachers who think using the technology isn't good, which I actually don't agree with. Before technology even existed, humans went outdoors and had fun; now, we stay watching the television or playing in the computer. I agree that I use the computer a lot and that most of the time that I am in the computer I use it for stuff that actually is a waste of time like Facebook. Facebook is a social media that allows us to communicate with friend all over the world and play games, which in my opinion is a fun way to waste our time. Parents today that don't really know how to use technology actually get annoyed with us for being in front of the computer too long. This video was produced for parents and teachers who actually, instead of using the computer themselves, actually TRY and look at what WE teenagers are doing. I think it is our life and our decisions of what we do during our computer sessions. Yeah, it is also our responsibility. We shouldn't be posting around real information about us because everyone else out there could see it. My point is that we teenagers have the decisions of doing what we want but with the responsibility of not posting inadequate posts.

Guy Using Spark Notes, should he feel guilty or not?

Today in class we saw a part of a video. In this video, a guy appeared. He said that he has NEVER read a book, which is really shocking for me. This guy also says he feels guilty because he feels like cheating for using Spark Notes instead of reading the book. I agree with him, he SHOULD feel guilty. Reading a book gives you the pleasure to really ENJOY the book. whether it is in your free time or for the school. Looking for Book summaries in the internet is a way of making homework easier for us but also a way for us to mess up with our future, making us a free pathway to not learn anything. He should feel guilty because getting your homework from someone else is the same thing as cheating. I think this guy should be embarrassed of himself :$ xD
Well, my conclusion is that getting your work done from the internet is the same thing as cheating. What's not cheating is getting information FROM the internet.

Computer In Home

The time is always changing, as it changes, the media evolves. I bet most people today use the computer, whether it is for good or for bad. In my house, we mostly use our computer to communicate. My both sisters and me use Facebook a lot, and when I was a lot I mean most of the time we are sitting in front of the computer. Our computer is placed in a desk by the main entrance, where our parents can see everything we do while they are in the kitchen... -.-
All my family uses the computer; my mom checks her email frequently and answers back, she also makes translations for companies that ask her to like Punta Pelicanos. My dad also checks his email and watches some series he likes and also checks the news. My sisters and me do almos tthe same stuff always, we enter and sign in into Messenger, we log in to Facebook, and pretend to do homework while we have fun in Facebook cheking posts in our home page and also checking our notifications while we chat. Most times we say we need the computer for our homework but, as I said before, we use it more for fun.

My Winter Break

This winter break was really relaxing. Since the beginning of the break, I enjoyed my free time going out with friends to watch a movie or just hang out. In Christmas, my family made a fancy lunch and we invited some neighbors over. We ate a lot of different things like spaghetti, roasted chicken, Spanish rice called PAELLA, salad, and many more. I really enjoyed this Christmas. Before we started making the lunch, we opened the presents. One of my sisters got a new VAIO laptop, while the other one got a cellphone, like me.
After Christmas, I spent most of my time doing homework. We have to do two different projects; one for English and one for Life Science. The English project was harder. We have to make a speech that lasted at least three minutes long while being presented. We could choose our speech topic, but the speech had to be persuasive. The topic I chose was "Should P.E. class be obligatory?". We are going to present the speeches tomorrow during class. I don't consider myself as such a good speech maker because I get really nervous and the words won't come out. I've been practicing a lot during my free time. Our other project, the Life Science one, was easier. We had to make a presentation about an animal we chose during out last day of school. The animals that we could choose had to be endangered of extinction. I chose the Bengal Tiger. I really enjoyed researching about the Bengal Tiger because I found out a lot of things that I didn't know about it before. I did all the homework in a two day period, from December 28th to December 29th. I had the only option to finish my homework those days because at the beginning of 2010 I had to leave Puerto Vallarta.
January the first came as fast as it could. Around eleven in the night, I left Puerto Vallarta and went to Morelia, Michoacan. I went there because my family was cordially invited to a wedding from a really close family. It wasn't a real wedding, it was just a 50 year "remarriage" because this couple has been married for 50 years! I think that is A LOT! The day we got to Morelia, January the 2th, I spent all the day working while my mom was out with a friend, one of my sisters was doing her nails, and my other sister was getting her hair done. I went with the bride's son to go get the baquet hall ready for the party. We blew up golden colored balloons. The party was great, but it was really cold. I really enjoyed this winter break.
