What do I think about my own video?

Well, I think both Thomas and I made a GREAT effort. Still, considering the rubric I would have put more effort into it. In my opinion, I put a lot of effort into it, and Thomas not as much as me but still he put some. I didn't like much our vocals and asked him if we could re-do it, but sometimes we men are more "webones" that women. The spanish term "webon" refers to someone who doesn't care much and doesn't do stuff because he or she has a lack of energy. About the rubric, I think they are very well done. All the points are considered, but I think that the duration should have been longer than one minute. The other two groups I had to evaluate were also great, as mine ;3. Still, I think that the seventh grade group I evaluated could have done a better job. The 12th grade group did an amazing job.

Earth Day Problems

The Earth is dying slowly, and we humans are the main source of the problem. We throw trash to the streets, to the ocean, to our own Mother Earth. We are what we do, what we are, how we act, how we respond. The problem right now is that we don´t knwo how to appreciate what we really have, nature. We are slowly killing it, polluting what is not ours to pollute.

Yesterday, I was walking and I saw the circus that arrived to town. This circus, as many others today, had animals. Animals such as elephants, tigers, horses, animals that shouldn´t be where they are right now. Animals that were born with the right to be free, but were taken by us humans. As I kept on thinking, it is not only the circus´ fault they have those animals, but also our fault for letting them having them. Imagine a tiger, living in the wild. Imagine him watching over his family, having a good time. When all of a suddent, here comes the human species. The only animal on Earth that is fully capable of annihilating other species, without even wincing. The one that can massacre a whole lot of animals, and knowing it is wrong but still doing it. The question is, why? Power. Power is what we all want today. The presidents, governors, teachers, even us as individuals. When we gain something we want, we insantly want more and more. Is that correct? It is not correct, but is isn´t incorrect, either. It is just how the human species has evolved. The problem is that we take it too far. Too far that we can even kill someone else for that power. Inocent people, innocent animals. Children that die in war, what had a family, friends, maybe even a date. Animals that had a family, a group of the same species who they could rely to. But what does it really matter when it comes to the fact that we come to detroy their happiness? We come and go, taking all their rights away from. These innocent living beings, that could never see their family again. Is this what we really want? We are attacking Mother Earth, destroying her. Is this the correct thing?

Today, we humans are killing what gave us birth in the first place. It´s not one problem that were enlisted on moodle that causes all the damage to the Earth. It´s us what is affecting the Earth the most. These are the option Mr. Picketts gave to us: *vanishing species.
*overflowing landfills.
*air pollution.
*rain forest destruction.
*water pollution.
*energy depletion.
Really? All of this are caused by us humans, don´t you think so? So what is the REAL problem here? Us.

Life is not about what people who seek power do, it´s about what we, who don´t have that power, do. It´s not about the government donating one billion dollars to a certain coorporation to make a change, but about the government making the change on its own. If you think of it, what has the government really done? The biggest projects have been made by the citizens who do care. The ones that want a change in the world. For example, last weekend there was a project in Puerto Vallarta that involved both the British American School and the American School of Puerto Vallarta. These two schools came together and both cleaned the Cuale River, a really pulluted river in Puerto Vallarta. The sad thing about this is that, even though a lot of trash was picked up, even more has been thrown at this moment and nobody does anything about it. The problem is people don´t think before they act, and when they do act they dont have a conscience to see if what they did was wrong or not.

It´s not that we need money to make an idea bigger, it´s other people we need. More people that can realize all the damage we are making to our own Earth, our only planet. Of you Googled satellite pictures of the Earth from some years ago and now, you would see that throwing a Coke bottle to the street does make a change. Any bottle, paper, spit that gets thrown to the ground makes a change. The Earth is what we want it to be, but remember, actions speak louder than words. If you want to see a cleaner Earth, clean it. If you want to see a better Earth, prove it.

Earth Day Project

Well, the Earth day was coming closer and we had to do a project about it. In partners, we had to choose a song and sing it ourselves. Thomas and I chose the song Earth Song by Michael Jackson. I had never heard that song before. At first we had chosen another song but as we started to read it out loud we realized it was really not about the Earth. When we found the Michael Jackson song we just knew that would be the one for us. Later one I realized other classes had already chosen that song, but it didn't bother me much. We really didn't have much problems doing this project. Actually it was a great project. Both Thomas and I took pictures about nature. I went to the Zoo with my sister and her boyfriend to take some photos. I also traveled around Puerto Vallarta to take some other photos. Thomas took some photos from the place where he lives, and those pictures were also fantastic. When I heard there was another circus in town, I kind of got sad. Many circuses use animals as if they were something to play with. They don't treat them the way the should be treated and don't give them much freedom. When I passed by the circus in bicycle, I saw the animals that were trapped. They had a space that not even I could live in. They had as much space as their own body times two. Like, seriously, imagine that you had to live somewhere where the only thing you could physically do was turn around? That would be really depressing, and that's the life those animals are living. I also took some pictures of them to add them to the video. When we sang this song we did some remakes because we laughed at our mistakes. This final version was one of the best ones. We had some problems because not Thomas nor I sing a lot. Sometimes it may sound a little bad but that's why we also the lyrics during the video. Here we will embed the video so you can enjoy our magic as you read this amazing blog post. Thanks for your time and remember to click LIKE. ;)

My Dream Spring Break

A perfect spring break for me would be a spring break were I would have the best time of my life. A time when all the troubles from the school just disappear, when all of your chores just aren't there for you to do anymore, when your parents aren't nagging all the time, and when you are with your most loved ones and missed ones. This spring break would consist of having fun without any limits.
Having the opportunity to chose anything you would do during this vacations, I don't think I'd hesitate to think. My mind would just get filled with thousands of different ideas, but sadly most of them are not really logical nor possible. Some of the ideas would involve stuff that aren't able to get here in Mexico, and I don't think I will get those things in a while. Other ideas are more logical but to make them possible other people would have to agree to them. I mean, our teenage minds are full of crazy ideas that if our parents knew what we were thinking about we would be grounded until reaching the University.
It had been forty eight days of me waiting, and it wasn't the best experience ever. Waiting for your loved ones isn't the best experience ever. Every second feels like a minute, and every minute feels like an hour.
If I could chose ONE thing in particular, I wouldn't doubt about spending time with her.
All about her, her hair, her smile, her face, her body, her hands, her smell, would invite you into her. She is just like one of those kind of persons that when you turn around to see everything else disappears and you just randomly stare at their unfair beauty, but the even worse part is when you get to know these kind of people. Like her, she is just perfect. She is the kind of person that you would give anything to spend your whole spring break with, even the summer and Christmas vacations, even the whole year. She is just that kind of girls that steals your heart without a second glance and when you realize she has it you can do nothing but let her keep it.
That's why, if I could chose my perfect spring break, she would be in it. She would be in it because of what she is, a heart stealer; because of what she has become, my biggest obsession; because of where she is, all over my mind. Not even having to rethink what a perfect spring break would consist of, I would have already added her to my list, and she would be in the number one position. Having fun doesn't involve just spending time where you most like to, but spending it with the ones you most love. This Dream Spring Break would involve this girl, and luckily it doesn't have to be a Spring Break, or a big holiday, it could even a be weekend, and that weekend is about to come.
